Hi has any one had a problem with their rear view mirror becoming loose or even falling off of the windshield? My one has become even more of a problem since the subs went in, the mirror is of the slide on and hope type as opposed to those with which are held in place with a grub screw! I'm thinking some kind of rubberised adhesive, any suggestions?

Thanks

Go to a windshield or your local glass shop. They can do it in 5 min./$5.00 and it will last ,or buy some cheap glue at an auto related shop and pay up to $12.00 / 1/2 ounce and it will never stay up.

The best Glue I've used was Loctite (metal/glass adhesive. Now this stuff might take the glass with it if you should ever need to take it back off.

I just bought a 95 Mystique last week, and the rear-view mirror was in the glove box! Can't be passing inspections like that, now, can we? I second the vote for adhesives available in your local parts store.

Of prime importance is the need to get both the glass surface and the metal tab clean. You'll need a razor blade to get the residual glue off, lacquer thinner as a solvent for lil' bits and pieces of residual glue, and 100% alcohol as the final solvent after the lacquer thinner. Don't forget to mark the location of the tab on the exterior surface of the glass prior to scraping everything off.

mine does it once a year or so, some autozone adhesive will stick it back on for a while.

Thanks guys for your response, however, my problem is not that the metal tab is coming off, it's staying like all you Fathers know what like sticks to a blanket! The mirror comes off of the metal tab! A bit of boom, boom, boom and it falls off!
Are all "Contique" rear view mirrors the same-no grub screw?
Or what?
