im pretty new with the duratec 24v dohc v-6 motors and i am wondering why they have 2 pulley systems. i know the one on the left side of my engine has the ac, alternator etc. but i do not know what the one on the right hand side if for. thanks

i guess u're talking about the waterpump pulley on the driverside of the engine under the cover

its for the water pump, when they designed the engine they ran out of room for the water pump on the same side of the engine as the a/c compressor, power steering, alternator....
so they used the power off the cam shaft from the other side and it works fine, dones not need much power just to turn the water pump...
