Why so muck skepticism about superchargers?
In most cases superchargers are supposed to be better than a turbo. I see a lot of people posting comments about horrible results with supercharged engines. What gives?

Nothing wrong with superchargers in general, i don't recall anyone saying there was. In general, they just aren't as efficient as a turbocharger setup (at least in where they pull the power to drive the compressor from).

Specific to the contour, you have the Vortech supercharger setup, and the streetflight turbo setup. The Vortech has a poorly engineered drive setup for the blower unit, and the instructions for the oil feed are poorly conceived (or at least they were, I think that part has been fixed). This has led to numerous failures of components in the vortech kits (thankfully the damage is typically contained to just hte supercharger kit components and vortech has been good about warranty for the most part)

Now, the streetflight kit seems to be top notch, and excellently engineered (time will tell for sure as more people get the kit) with material selection well thought out, and perhaps erring on the side of over-designed (not a bad thing except for it adds cost)

So, take all that for what you will.
