There was a black out!!! Really, I didn't know! I think you're lying, I'm going to snopes.com.

Why the attitude Andy?
I too got my power back but other families less then 2 miles away still have no power.

It's called sarcasm not attitude! For those with power it was on every station tv and radio all evening and into the morning. I understand the scale of the outage, just be glad it wasn't a terror attack. You guys think your the only people ever to loose power. Geese!

Of course I have lost power before. I have never experienced anything like this on this scale before. I have seen power go out in a city or two but not an entire region.
Most importantly I realized that I am not really prepared and will work to correct this.

I moved my parents to Florida from Maine a while back. Down here we prepare for hurricane season more than the natives do, I think. I have four brother who live in the area, so we have a plan in case of a major storm & its associated service interruptions which can last for weeks. My brother got my mother's house hooked up with a 12,000 watt natural gas powered, 5 second delay, automatic trip generator - very cool stuff, runs right off the main gas feed to the house. We all meet there after any sized storm & thank our luck stars. If a big one ever hits, we'll use it as a base of operations for re-building our homes. Family is the thing!
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

GEESE??? What's up wit da geese?? It's GEEZ...hahaha, just teasing Andy. I can see why Andy has a little sarcasm on this. Basically, it's in the CONTOUR FORUM, not in COMMON INTERESTS where The noob might just find the 3 or 4 OTHER threads about the power outage. I agree, it's a wild thing what happened, but put it in the right forum with the OTHER threads on the same topic. That is all, drive thru please.
