Yeah, I know, I did mine for under $10. Problem is people are wanting others to do theirs. I just don't see that happening. I want to warn anyone who gets suckered into doing it for someone else that it is a bigger pain in the ass then what it may seem, expecially if you start breaking studs. Mind you, I broke 3 of my studs and I don't live in a place where they salt the roads. Funny thing was that the y-pipe had been off a week before since it was in the shop for a manifold change (Ford could have F'ed something then).

Go to warmonger's 3L site off the links and follow his instructions and pics for a general idea Any muffler shop should be able to do it for ya following the instructions-it's well worth it!!

war. did this
the how to talks about getting a 6" peace of 2.5 inch pipe and have one side flanged, wich i dont understand were that fits fits in the equation. war. just cut out the crushed pipes and replaced it with lots of weld. Wich prob. works just as well.

Those welds aren't as big as they look, I used the grinder quite a bit to erase my welding mistakes since I was learning to weld on that project! By this I mean that I didn't have to fill any large holes, I just sucked at welding then. I got a lot better by the time I tackled all that pipe welding for my turbo. I just cut the piping with a die grinder at angles to where the two pieces would butt up together then welded them together. Making a smooth transition was perhaps the hardest part. after they were together I just cut the joined pipe off flush and added about 2" of 2.5" pipe to lengthen it and stick back into the flange. The flang accepts 2.5" ID pipe IF you cut out the old pipe. war...

The problem is that here in Cali, no shop will touch your y-pipe. The state regulations have become absolutely ridiculous. You have to do it yourself or find somebody that can.

Can't you travel into the next state and have them do it and then go back? It might be a pain but the results are well worth it....

Take it off the car and try it I think then you could get a muffler shop to hook it up. Or take it off the car and go to a machine shop/welder that isn't a car guy.

The guy I know at the Mr. Muffler by my house said he can make me a Y-Pipe that would flow alot better than the one I have for about $150. Sound like a good deal? Or should I try and give him Warmongers instructions? Either way would this be worth doing performance wise? And will this make my Borla Catback sound any deeper?
