Hey guys, I am looking to upgrade my 6x9's in the back. I have a sony mobile es amp pushing my current ones. The amp pushes out 75 watts a channel of clean RMS power. I have Cerwin vegas which I bought at best buy (I lost my connection at the time) for $100. I want something that doesn't bottom out so easy. I listen to rock/dance music LOUD. My Boston Components handle it no problem but the 6X9's sound a little weak. What is the best 6x9 with good badd and clean sound for under $110? Let me know if you could.

Joe

You gotta have speakers in the back! When you back the car up in a parking lot and all your friends are there, you open all the doors and blast the music! Only 2 front speakers would be terrible!

I can only speak of what I know, I have 4 alpine 5x7s in the doors and they sound beautiful. I couldn't be happier. I bought them for around $110/pair. Another guy in a different thread said he found infinities for $79/pair. I have never heard infinities so I cant say if they are good or bad...anyway good luck!

infinity's are good, but 6x9 wont fit in a contour's stock spots, where do you plan to put them? just do a search over the net or check out ebay, you can probably find a decent pair for $110

Yes, they do. I have 6x9's back there now. You can make them fit. I can get infinitys at cost.
I was thinking there was another brand that I didnt know about.

I have no rear speakers, but I do have 6 in the front. It's definetly not terrible

I would look at building a component set up front over more 5x7/6x8s. Partsexpress.com has 7" Vifa midbass drivers on for $35 each right now, insanity. You could pick up a really decent pair of tweeters from them as well for under $35 each and have something really nice for not too much more than a plop in 5x7. All you'd have to do is make a spacer, the 7" fits just fine. Then select or build a crossover.

Just trying to help out, seeing as I've been through each step. I started with plop in coaxials and a small sub, I had 14 speakers at one point including speakers in the rear deck. I'm finally doing it right this time several thousands later I always thought one of the points of this forum is to help others avoid avenues you've taken in the past that resulted in nothing.
