Ok, I'm really getting sick of this car! Started the car to go to work today. The gas light comes on. Stays lit for about 10 sec, then goes out. Shes running fine for a while after that. Then the speedo drops from 60 to zero. The air bag light flashes about 5 times, then goes out. The gas light comes on, then goes out. I can't remember how many times. Then the air bag light flashes for about 5 times again. Speedo still out. About 2 minutes later the speedo comes back to life and is fine for the rest of the drive. Note: the temp guage reads normally. The cruise control works normally. The odometer is out when the speedo is out. The car seems to "buck" pretty bad while all of this is happening.
I was thinking that the VSS was to blame, but wouldn't it take out the cruise control also? Someone has got to have an answer to all of these problems, PLEASE!!!

Time for a new battery?

Check your out and decide. But seems like these wierd things happen when it's time for a new one.

Speedo and gas light problem sounds like poor connection on instrument cluster, passsage of time, re-start or gentle fist on dash works best to repair (my summary of past posts) since troubleshooting such an intermittent is difficult. Don't recall air bag light or 'bucking' being part of my or others experience.
