Yeah, I know...kind of a Bold statement, but True. Here is the Tire history of my Contour:
0-41K Miles: Stock Eagle F1 205/55/16
41-67K Miles: BFG KDW 215/50/16
67-93K Miles: BFG KDWS 225/50/16
Present: Eagle F1 GS-D3 205/55/16

Yes, I went back to stock size....too much rubbing in back for my taste. So, I was torn as to which tires to get for my 'Tour. A great deal on the Eagles made them hard to pass up; I ended up paying about $100/Each Installed, but are WELL worth the advertised price!

Noise: What noise? These tires are VERY quiet. Much quieter than any tire that I have owned.

Handling: 2 Words: Confidence Inspiring! I can do no wrong on these tires...with the stock suspension, the body can be at full roll and the tires still don't groan in complaint. They just stick like glue! They make the car SO MUCH Fun to drive again. I used to be all about getting rid of the car, but now I want to put some $$$ into her again (Headers/Pro-M).

Wet Weather: Well, they are designed with wet weather in mind...especially with the funky angular aqua-tread type pattern. Tires are rated "AA" for rain! I CANNOT break the tires loose in the rain...in first gear from a roll or a stop! I still baffles me how this can be. My KDWSes would one-leg it at any more than 1/2 throttle in 1st gear in the wet...

Other:With the unique tread design there are no straight lines on the tread. This allows the tire to go right over expansion joints in the road with no issue. There is nothing for the tire to catch on.

Also, there is a built in "Rim Saver" feature that will protect the rim from curb or other scratches.

Excellent review! They're at the top of my list with maybe the Pirelli P Zero Nero's. How do they compare in terms of "harshness"? My Kumho's make the change rattle in my car whenever I go over anything sharp (I'm hoping it's not the price ya pay for performance).

I'll be getting tires in about another 2-3 weeks - and it's either these Goodyears or another set of KDW's.

The only issue is that I can get the KDW's for $138 per tire (installed), and the cheapest I have found the Goodyears is $166 each (installed).

How did you get them for $100 each?!?! If I could bring the per tire cost down to even within $10 or $15 of the KDW's, I would definitely try the Goodyears.

Your review was great - made me resolve to try and find the Goodyear for a somewhat comparable price.

There was a $100 Rebate on 4 tires and I have a friend that works at a Goodyear.

Right now there is a deal where you get a $50 Gift Certificate to Best Buy or something like that....it helps a little.

Thanks for the write up, good stuff.
I am looking at getting these for my next set. I have good year now and am happy with them, although they are all season and probably not necessary in CA.
Let us know how they wear.

Let us know what the treadwear is like on these.

I'm running Bridgestone PP S-03's on my Summer wheels and may be looking for replacements next Spring...

The S-03's have been the best I've ever had, but I'm always interested on a better tire if the money is right.

im hoping teh falkens will be good. got them for $99 each from discounttiredirect.com, and will cost me about $25 for front end alignment and the tires to be mounted and balanced (its nice knowing people)
