it seems that my fan is only coming on with the ac
the low fan only my ? is
how do i test the high speed on the fan (my car is a 96 tour GL with the Zetec and only has one fan

i tried putting power to it and got only got it to work wih one of the wires coming from the fan

AC should bring on hi-speed.
For lo-speed operation (stop & go traffic, excessive idling, etc.) the fan motor is fed via a dropping resistor on fan shroud (bottom, driver's side).
Hi and lo relays located in engine compartment fuse box, can be removed and socket terminals jumpered to cause fan operation (engine off, ignition on). Relay cases identify contact terminals.
