I need to get new tires for my 98 Myst LS 205 60 15. It came with Eagle GAâ??s which are no longer made. I replaced them with Mich Pilots that I absolutely hate. Noise and only 30k mi tread ware. I know that most of you have changed your rims and went for supper low profile tires. But I am staying stock and need some quiet hwy cursers that stay balanced and donâ??t hydroplane. Any suggestions? Or tires to steer clear of? (Pun intended)

Which Michelin Pilots did you get ?

I am currently running the Pilot XGT H4s and they have been fantastic.
I've also rotated them every 7500 miles so I've never had any noise from them,
and I keep them pumped up on the high pressure side, 31 in the front and 34 in the rear.
I currently have about 30,000 miles on them and they aren't worn halfway yet.

Before the Pilots I had the Mich Energy MXV4+.
They were also a very good tire, but the Pilots have a quicker steering response.

I have stock rims and recently put BFGoodrich Comp T/A VR-4's on. They are 215/50/16 and so far i have had no complaints.

Im going to be needing a new set before too long. My freeway commute has really made a short life of the Dunlop SP Sport 8000s that are on my 16s. The bad thing, I dont want to lose the stickyness of these tires when I go to a new set, but I need a tire with a much higher treadwear rating.

I'm not 100% sure they come in your size, but I have been very happy, no make that extremely happy with Sumitomo tires from the Tire Rack. They are the HTRZ and have withstood two trips to Watkins Glen and still look great. I don't put a ton of miles on my car, but they are holding up just fine with regular driving, no noise either.

I think I only paid $80.00 each for the 225/50/16

I have the XGT H4 as well. I run the same pressure as you 31F 34R and only got 30K mi out of the set. It is not like one tire wore out, they all did. When I first got them I loved them, the traction was great. It wasnâ??t long before I realized that they made a lot of noise. Just about everyone who rides in my car comments about the road noise.

I guess I should have taken them back when I frist noticed the noise.
