I think one of the suggestions was to use electrical contact cleaner to clean the "hotwire" in the MAF.

Just replace the O2 sensor and see where you stand...

Like the others have been saying you need to clean the hot wire inside your MAF meter. It sort of looks like a light bulb filament. There are two in my zetec MAF.

I used electronic contact cleaner to clean the "filament" , the contact cleaner leaves no residue. I did not clean the contact on the wire connection or harness.

You might spray the "filament" with a stronger cleaner like electric motor cleaner or brake cleaner before rinsing it with the electronic contact cleaner.

Best stuff to use, Berryman's B-12 Chemtool!!! It rocks!

Cleans and then evaporates!!

Spray it down, wait, then spray it again. Using an open element, or cone filter? Replace or clean it sooner...speaking of which, I have the Spectre, I will probably be replacing mine again soon. Every season change, I change the air filter.

I just cleaned mine with Chemtool. I put the plastic tube into the squirt nozzle and aimed the jet of fluid at the two wires, and they came clean without having to be touched with a swab. And the fluid didn't come out at dangerous pressure.

Of course, Chemtool can cause cancer, but you'll probably be okay.

Okay,

I've been looking around for this B-12 stuff, but it seems like you guys are really talking about this (2206) ELECTRONIC CLEANER and not the B-12, because B-12 is a Carburator Cleaner !!!

Can someone clarify this thing ????

Here are the Berrymans products:

Berryman

Thanks
