My paint is doing this in like 6 places, and they are about 1-2 inch spots. My car is originally from Phoenix.
Is this sun damage? Are there any products to help this? Would that Meguiar's Scratch-X stuff help?

I want to find a cheap fix before I sink $$$ on getting a shop to fix it.

Has your car ever been repainted, because that looks like orange peel/fisheyes in the paint which if thats the case it woudl need to be repainted. Improper temperature at the time of painting and prep work causes this to happen.

Sorry, but no quick fix. Needs a repaint. Looks like paint stripper, brake fluid or ATF by the crackling effect.

My 98 Myst ??dark satin green? did this when it was only two years old. Since I already had 39k mi Ford would not repaint or even make a good will offer. It??s from two thick a paint job and two much heat (it could also be from chemicals). No quick fix (so don??t waste your money) it needs to be stripped and repainted. By the way, it??s called ??checking?.

Sorry

jeff

Mine eventually came up in big flakes, and as I sanded to get to a place with good primer/metal adhesion I wound up doing a 6"x9" area. Of course I didn't take my time doing the paint and the color in the rattle can from Wal-Mart didn't match so it looks like ass, but from 10 feet away it's not too bad, and it looks better than a big rusty spot on the hood. Repaint is the only way to go.

I also have a 93 accord that has the same problem as your paint does. Once again, it cannot be fixed. I took it to a paint dealership and they told me that it was from bird crap that sat on the paint, so now whenever I see any on any of my cars, I remove it immediately. The only way to get rid of it is by repainting, and it isn't worth it to me.

Just an FYI;
Orange peel is a rough textured finish caused by 'too much' paint. Too much is a relative term based on what the desired finish is. As an example, the lower portion of your doors could accurately be described as 'orange peely' due to the large amounts of anti-chip primer that is used there. So much that you can feel the texture.

Fisheye's are a specific type of paint crater. They generally contain foreign material that causes the wet paint to not adhere properly in that area.
