Wow, it sure seems like some of the entertainment greats are passing away en masse.

Sad to see such an amazing American Icon gone.

The guy is truly an icon. The work he did for charities and the entertainment tours for troops across a number of wars is just incredible.

...not to mention some of the movies. To this day I enjoy watching any of the "Road..." shows that pop up on the TV every now and then.

An American icon that was born in London, I never knew that until today.

I had him pegged as an immortal. I bet he's up there right now having a Brandy with George Burns while Sam Kennison and Andy Kaufman play pool.

whats really sad is we dont have people his caliber to continue his work... todays comedians make a mockery of the idea of civil service and clean family fun and humor... not to mention they're a bunch of social quacks anyhow

sigh

bob was definitely the man....i used to enjoy his movies (that he used to joke about never winning an oscar for)...i always thought he was very funny eventhough i was just a lil [censored] watching black n white movies...

they showed his episode of 'i love lucy' where he let lucy be in a show with him and ricky....funny funny episode...i wondered why they picked the cleveland indians and made a joke about the yanks during a couple scenes....i found out later on sports radio that he was part owner at one time of the indians and l.a. rams

he loved golf...the line i heard today from him 'i do comedy to pay my greens fee'

and in his later yrs he had some great phone appearances on howard stern a few yrs ago

pretty soon there wont be any celeb over 80-90 alive it seems
