Hummmmm, just killed my interest...
Yeah, it's nuts. Honestly though, the whole setup isn't terribly complicated to duplicate for 1/10 the cost, especially if you have access to CNC equipment. Try this link for some preliminary discussion on the topic....

Keep in mind that for daily driven vehicles, a setup like this would require regular adjustment intervals of 5-10,000 miles. Additionally, the sound of 24 solid lash adjusters will end up sounding more along the lines of a mid-80's Mercedes diesel. Albeit an 8-grand capable mid-80's Merc diesel, but a loud one nonetheless.

Why not just use the ones from the stock Cobra valvetrain. I am sure they are way better than what we have ans should be quite a bit cheaper. Any thoughts on this

To the contrary, both the 4.6 Cobra heads and the Duratec heads share the same lifter/follower parts.

So wouldn't that mean the Cobra uses Duratec parts since the Duratec was designed and built long before any DOHC 4.6 engine...

DOHC 4.6 debuted in the '93 Lincoln Mark VIII, which shared the same heads as the 96-98 Cobras

The 03 cobras have an improve head design. But are they still using the same lifter/follower parts?

The port geometry is vastly improved, but the lifter setup has been the same since day one. Why spend money on re-engineering something when the setup you've got works perfectly for the intended application (quiet operation, daily driving, and a <7000rpm redline) already?

For higher lift, longer duration, and extended redlines that spit out stock followers. Quiet operation indeed... I wouldn't expect anything less from Ford though, who took the rod shift out because you could feel "to much of the transmission" through it.
