Hi,
I know most of the people here have modded their car at least a little and I was wondering what part(s) I would need to do this. I want to get the Pro-Flow 75mm MAF and use a cone filter. What size MAF adapter (if any) would I need to do this? Has anyone had a good or bad experience with the bigger MAFs? Thanks for the help in advance.

Here are a few links to threads talking about MAF adapters and such. I have not heard much about a larger MAF causing major problems.

MAF Adapter Link 1

MAF Adapter Link 2

Hope this helps a little bit more. If not, tell me and I'll try to dig up some more info.

Well I know 2 people that got Pro-flows from SP and their car ran SUPER lean.. to the point there was black carbon crap coming out of the exhaust.. that doesn't sound like a good 250 dollar investment to me.

Um, black carbon crap coming out the exhaust would mean RICH.

If running super lean, buh bye engine.

90mm MAF Adapter.
K&N filter

...and yes blackened exhaust tips equals a very rich mixture, not a lean mixture...

Is it safe to say that I'm not running either too lean or too rich if I'm having no CEL's? Should I check anyway, and if I should, how?

Hook a scanner up to the OBD II service port and monitor all O2 banks for a day or two.

Thanks for the help everyone. Now I'm a bit cautious about the bigger MAF, has anyone else had a bad experience with them?
