In anyone remembers, last week I had Ford take a look at my battery cables, hoping this would fix my random electrical issues. I came out of the service bay with a new alternator (gotta love the extended warranty) for $100.

So, now I get home, and my alarm still acts up! I have a Ford Factory-installed alarm that has a tendency to leave the parking lights on instead of pulsing them for any operation. I thought my "lights are on" chime was actually the "door is open" chime. Oh well. Now I know when the lights are being left on at least.

How on Earth do I fix this? I'm this close to going in there myself and screwing around until I find a loose connection or something. Does anyone know how these things are wired up, or what I should look for?

Whoever installed this thing did such a poor job that when I pressed my little alarm light to turn on valet mode, the light fell into the dash! Talk about shoddy workmanship. (wow.. that's a nice rant)

Anyone?

I have that same type of alarm I believe. I had a post late last year about problems setting and shutting off the "factory" alarm with the key fob and was told that the Ford dealers farm out the alarm installations and you'd have to find out who actually installed the alarm or have the dealer send it to the installer for repair.
