Got the car inspected today, NJ DMV passed me although the CEL was on. There computer said the code was P0420. After researching found that it is Bank 1 Cat running below threshold. Which one is Bank 1? I have the service manual but it doesn;t say anything about different banks. I am assuming it is the front one. Also, do I have to replace the whole manifold? or does the cat come off of it?

Mmmm... Bank 1 is the bank closest to the firewall. Cat cannot be replaced on its own, the manifold comes as one unit.

If you are within 8 years or 80,000 miles, Ford will replace the manifolds for free. (Federal Emissions Warranty)
