The first thing that comes to my mind after reading your post is that there may be a vapor lock in your fuel system.
Someone more skilled to answer your question will reply soon enough but until then here is my 2c worth.....
Check fuel pump opperation and see if your gas lines are holding a pressure.
My guess is that you have little or no pressure in the gas lines and the engine is starving for fuel. Also replace the fuel filter and see if that helps any.
