Just did a little upgrading on the Car this weekend.

Changed Tires, and replaced all the breaks.

My previous tires were the Yokohama A520's,
let it be know that I am hearing impaired, And these were loud to me....Can't Imagine what it would be like to those of you that can hear. The were 215/40/17, and were very unforgiving to my Momo's on kansas but mainly horribly swiss cheesed Missouri Roads. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A 40 series tire.

They stuck Great, Turn In was awesome, just so darn loud. and wet traction was a shade below my original KDW's.
I drive Twisty's daily ( HWY 5 out of Leavenworth) and definately get my money's worth with my tires with Rotations every 6k miles. I got around 21k hard miles on the Yoko's with only 2 tires being salvageable for later use.

I decided to try the Falkens. ZR5-12 all weather hi-performance W rated I believe.
in a 225/45/17, And I must admit, the grip is equal to or better then the YOko's as I probably have another 100 miles of break-in before I can give a more accurate description,
They do seem to have a little bit more flex in the sidewall but nothing that doesn't make feel comfortable pushing the car. but that is to be expected with the higher profile, I could regularly get my rear end to drift out with my kdw's, and Yoko's and just accelerate out of it, I Haven't had the Falkens Chirping yet,or the rear swing out (give me a week) or have I had them in the rain. but the Quietness is what just blows me away compared to what the Yoko's and the KDW's were like, Even with my hearing aids in driving, I can't believe I am driving the same car. They are even Quieter then My wife's Potenza 950's, I was actually expecting maybe equal noise from jumping up in width, but not the case,

I highly reccommend them, and I paid $370 shipped to my door for all 4, at 81$ a piece and a stack of change for shipping it still ended up being cheaper the Whalentire, Tirerack, and tires.com. the store was www.hptire.net
can't complain about the service, items were ordered and recieved in 3 days, ground shipping from NY. then paid 40$ for lifetime mounting and balancing.

Hope to have a better assesment in the rain performance area, as Us folks in the Plains are having a little dry spell lately.

But 2 thumbs up for the 512's and will definately be buying them again pending their wear, or another Falken tire that catches my eye
