hey,
i'm just curious. i'm in the process of changing the light bulbs on my mystique. apparently, i have to take off the grill to do it. since it has to come off anyway, i was thinking off sanding off the "chrome", since it looks pretty bad in places, and painting it all black.
are there any aftermarket grills for the mystique? i've checked about 6 different sites, and have not seen anything?any leads?

The only aftermarket ones are ones that you do yourself. As for needing to remove the grill to change the light bulbs. That is the first time I've heard of that. Granted Ford must think everyone is a contortion artist to change their light bulbs.

You don't have to take your grill off to change your bulbs, I have changed mine many times without taking off the grill. My grill is also looking bad in places I guess it's a defect with the material. Unfortunatly there are no aftermarket grills for our cars.

i saw the pics of sideoftheroad's mystique. i gues he made that grill himself. that's exactly what i'm looking for. how hard is it to make something like that?

i guess the shop that i went to to change the lights either didn;t want to bother, or were trying to squeeze some more money out of me.
i did notice that the clip on the top of my right headlight where the screw goes in was broken. will i have to change the whole headlight, or can i get by without it. it's not too loose, and it must have been like that for a while. i guess ignorance is bliss, because it's bugging me now that i know it's broken.

by the way, has anyone had any problems with the msds headers in canadian winters? i've been told it's not a good idea to get them.

Are you refering to the rotting of the headers in Canadian winters? The old ones do not hold up to well. The jet coated ones haven't been around long enough to see any real winter activity but they look like they would hold up a crap load better.
