Okay I upgraded the brakes on my sister 96SE MTX and my mom's 99SE ATX to E1 SVTs. Then my mom started to complain about a few things, including a grinding noise while turning right. I thought maybe wheel bearings or CV, but now that I have the wheel off everthing seems fine. Well I also talked to my sister today who said her car is making the same noise, only turning right. Now I think it must have something to do with brakes, I did the exact same thing for both cars, at the same time. I have checked for wheel contact rubbing, but have seen no signs of wear. I am just asking here to verify this is a coincidence of both cars having the same thing fail, after doing the same upgrade.

Thanks

I think I'm experiencing the same type of problem. I just changed my brakes this weekend as the right front seemed to be rubbing. Turns out that the back pad on the right was completely worn down, however the other pads showed normal wear. Now with the new pads on there still sounds as if there is rubbing from that side. What gives?

Are the calipers floating on the pins or seized???

That would cause the back pad to wear faster than the front.

I used new pins and bushings on mine so I don't think that is my solution.

Thanks Anyway.

My brake noise seems to be subsiding. It's still under warranty so I'll have the dealer look at it. Thanks Lance!

If the rotors are larger than stock, check to see if the inside inner edge of the rotor is making contact with the outer part of the lower control arm.

I just ran into this on a SHO with oversized front rotors after replacing the LCAs.
