Around here, Farm & Fleet has them for $8.99, and some Checkers (aka Kragen) too. Problem is no one ever has any in stock. I had to drive a half hour out of my way the other day to the next closest Farm & Fleet, and when I got there I cleared them out of their stock. I should be set for the next year

It's actually 2-stroke oil, but that doesn't matter, right?

Mobil-1 + Motorcraft filter for me.

ira's 2000 Mystique ATX w/Religious 3K oil changes
I use the Mobile 1 filter and rotate the following oils
FULL SYNTHETICS ONLY:
Pensoil/Mobil 1/Havoline/Castrol/Valvoline
5W/30 in Summer 0W/30 in winter
For some twisted reason I have this thought that different brands have different additive packages that could clean up deposites & contaminants left by the previous. I don't run my car hard so I think thermal protection in my case is even across the board.

If you like variety, here's the lineup you should be rotating: Mobil 1/RedLine/Amsoil/Royal Purple. Ditch the rest...

**FYI**
the NAPA Gold and the K&N filter are the same. i have a guy who races trucks and he did all kinds of research to back this up too.....their identical filters!

...but stick with Motorcraft, in this case. The filter and casing are the same, but the bypass valve on the Motorcraft is in a Ford-spec'd location, different than on the Purolator.

Me, I'm Mobil 1 5W-30 with Mobil 1 filter.

FWIW, the Mobil 1 and K&N Filters are both made by Champion. The Mobil 1 has higher burst strength, greater capacity, and better filtering efficiency than the K&N, but the K&N has a higher flow capacity--good for frequent trips to high rpm range. (i.e., it will keep filtering oil after the rev point where the Mobil 1 filter goes to bypass, but only so far.) Bottom line: Both are very good filters, with slightly different emphasis.
