ok, let's face it, the back end of these cars is not the nicest thing in he world - looking dated fast, looking a little "rental car" anybody know of a carbon fiber replacement for the chrome piece on the top of the rear deck lid reflector cluster? i guess i could also paint it body color. how about clear tail light lenses & reflector cluster? to match the front

Hey weren't you the one posting about how "ugly" the Cobra front conversion was on that white SVT? I think you are. The SVT's have one of the sexiest ass-ends out there. What is your deal? All of the posts I have seen from you are about you disliking the looks of SVT's. Why are you here? You'll probably fit in better.......somewhere else.

then why do people paint them? if they are so sexy?
i am looking to share ideas with people into a more restrained understated performance look.
i know other members feel the same way, if you read the Cobra front feed back, there are alot of polite people saying "not exactly my taste . . ." that is code for: looks like a juvenile fiberglass speedboat. Next the monster wing will go on the back (of a front wheel drive car?!) kinda says it all - lookit me!! lookit me!!
what is your deal, to defend garish gaudyness? you would probably fit in better . . . . at an import tuner convention wet teeshirt beer drinking contest.

Yes, absolutely. However, I don't think people are reacting to the fact that you want to try something different. They're reacting to the fact that you've only been here a week and two threads that you've started are bashing. The thread about the cobra bumper seemed to be completely unsolicted. People don't take too kindly to that, even from a veteran member.
If you want to paint the chrome strip, that's great, but titling the thread "ugly butt" isn't the right way to go about it, at least until people get to know you better. People will get the impression that you're only here to cause trouble.
Back on topic, I don't know of any carbon fiber (expensive), but painting it would definitely be a possibility. Many people have painted the chrome grille ring on the front, try searching Aesthetics for something like "paint grille" or similar and see what comes up. I remember someone mentioning that you could take off the chrome with muratic acid, then sand, prime, and paint the area. You'd probably have to remove the chrome strip from the rear reflector to do that, though.
