I found this product on ebay that supposedly restores the clear shine to the contour lights that have become foggy and dull, like mine. Think this will work or is it crap? It could be a much cheaper way of making them look brand new again, rather than paying 230 for two new headlights.

You can try a plastic polish. I know Mothers, Meguires, and Plexus makes a plastic polish. I've tried the Meguire's one, and it works well. It took the haziness away and cleaned my headlights up real well. It's worth trying one of these before you go and pay for new units.

I am currently trying to get my hands on a canopy polishing kit. When i was in the air force we used them to polish scratches out of f-16 canopies. It is a set of emory cloths that start at 600 grit and go in this order, 800grit 1200grit 2400grit 3000grit 4500grit 6000 and 8000grit
Some of the grits may be a little off but yes it does go all the way to 8000. we used it to make sure the canopies were without any visibility harming scratches. To let you know how smooth 8000 grit is, if you rub a dollar bill over the surface after getting to 8000 you will see scratches from the bill. I think this would work well.

I used this kit for rubbing out model kits to flawless paint jobs. http://www.dxmarket.com/micromark/products/81601.html I have also used it on clear plastics and with some water you will make them perfectly clear again

I also found this product called Novus plastic polish. We used to use it to refinish the play field on Pin Ball machines. http://www.novuspolish.com/fullscreen-launch.htmI have used it and my headlights were completly clear again.
