stopped in at a pretty respectable tinting shop in the area and had them give me an estimate. one of the guys that works there drives a mystique so they were giving me a real accurate number. For 5% on the rear windshield and 2 rear windows and 20% on the front 2 windows they told me $279, and it'll take them 2 hours and comes with a 5 year warranty on all workmanship including bubbling and peeling. Is this reasonable? Just curious cuz there's like 5 other tint shops on the same street, just looking for a decent price without sacrificing quality.

$279!!!! yeah right. The tint better have a cop meter that goes from dark to light when it detects a cop car. Go somewhere else. Around tint jobs range from $120 to $200. Personally I would NEVER pay over $150 for one.

You shouldn't pay anything more than $200 anywhere in the country, including a lifetime warranty on the tint.
Around here, for a 5-year warrantied tint, is $135, and that's considered expensive. And that's in metro-DFW, which is not a cheap place to get tint.

hey, thanks alot guys. Yeah i've heard that another place down the road goes for like $35/window so that's like.....aw crap, where's my calculator...$140ish... The shop just doesn't look as clean, so i figured it might be like a cheap crap job. But, i have heard good things from like 3 guys, all with fords. So i'll have to stop in sometime and check it out. But thanks for the info!
