Hey Everyone!

I just want to say WAZZUP to everyone. It is rare that I post anything, but I read other posts alot. Well, here is my situation - well, it is hard to say... I pulled a Rick Blackford (Hey Rick ) and rolled my CSVT! Gasp. It hurts to talk about it still. Just a word of advice to anyone who questions the cornering ability of the SVT, umm, it can't take a 35m.p.h. corner at 90m.p.h.

Well, my buddy owns a body shop and can actually fix it. He is working on that right now . The insurance company is paying for new wheels, but the thing is - I don't want them anymore. I picked out four brand new Konig Imagine Opals in the 17x7 size because they said my original MasItaly MGR's were "discontinued". I am selling the new wheels because I really don't like the way they look with the silver SVT. It was one of those situations where I saw something that looked good on the shelf, but bad on my silver car .

These wheels would be great for any darker SVT because they almost look chrome . THese wheels are brand new and look sweet, everyone says so, except me. I am just like you all are (EXTRREMELY anal about my car) and I need perfection. Like I said, these would look great on a darker SVT, so if you drive a darker svt and are wanting something new, let me know. Hell, I'd even put them on your car so you could check out the actual product. I am a straightforward person and I usually tell it how it is, so if youre interested, let me know. I know that I should be posting this in the classified section, but I would prefer to sell this locally and I am doing more than posting an ad, because I also have a story behind it.

Thanks!

P.S. I don't check my PM's alot because nobody ever PM's me, so it is better to email or call.

Chuck, very close to being a locked thread for selling items here, but I'll let it stand since you're not posting prices and pics and such.

So do tell, more of what happened? Any pics of the car? Glad to hear you are doing ok. Several members of the board have had some rough experiences with taking curves too fast so don't feel bad. IIRC there's even someone on here that has damaged a Porshe Cayenne Turbo, hmmm wonder who that was?! LOL

Yeah, I thought that it was going to be locked, and thanks for not locking it. Well, here is the story:

Before I get into this story, I quite honestly want to say that no one should ever do this in any car, on the track or on the street - as I am seriously freaked out and almost died. I was leaving a friend's house for work early in the morning (about 6 a.m.) and I was feeling a little tired . It had rained the night before, so there was a little bit of moisture on the road. It was a true recipe for disaster. I was on a frontage road next to a local highway, and it had a lot of sharp turns with the posted 30 or 40 m.p.h. limit. After about 3 or 4 sharp turns at the posted limit, I was starting to wake up and I got something in me in that I started taking the corners faster and faster . I took one at 45 - no problem. The next one - 55.

Then, there was a strightaway for about a block, then a not-so-sharp turn to the left, so I accelerated to 75. I was focused, I planned to take the corner low and come out high. Needless to say, this was not my first time taking corners like this and I was foolishly confident the SVT could take it. What I didn't count on was ..... the other lane has cars too. I came in low, just like I planned, then I saw it - a late model Buick LaSabre. I slammed on the brakes and turned the wheel right. The momentum of the car and the sudden change in direction caused the rear end to swing around. Then the driver-side front tire blew out, and the rear end narrowly missed the Buick. It swung around and hit the curb, and the momentum of the car flipped it over, bending both of my driver side wheels in on the bottom half, and damage to every side of the body. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

I just think that everyone should know - I am an idiot . But I was wearing my seatbelt, and I think that if I wasn't, I could have been killed. It is funny to look back on when I am sitting with my buddies, but it wouldn't be funny if I had hit the other car, or been injured- so don't do it. To quote Goldmember : "Help me from myself, bring me my skin box"

Ya it was definitely not the smartest move to make. I've been guilty of doing some of that myself. Glad to hear you're ok though. BTW, for reference on the corners always go in high and try to come out low. Basically turn in as late as you possibly can. The problem with these cars is that once the front end lets loose and starts to slide by going in too early it's very tough to get them back without the front end wanting to come around. What you experienced is the same thing that happened in my rollover. I turned in too early and the front end started sliding and I ran out of track on the exit.

We have all done less than intelligent stunts from time to time (SZ2001 memories?) just varying degrees of luck with what we were able to get away with.

Glad to hear you are safe and sound, and also that the car is fixable (car's replaceable, you're not!)
