When this happens, with the key removed, push on the ignition lock cylinder and it should "pop" out. Mine does this as well from time to time. My lock cylinder doesn't always quite come out every time the key is removed.
The sound is the "key in ignition" chime mode, and as soon as you pop the cylinder out it will go away. Seems the switch to indicate the keys are in the ignition is triggered by the cylinder being in slightly (which happens when you insert the key and is supposed to come out when you remove it). The warning only happens when the keys are in the ignition, with the engine off, and the driver's door open.
