OK a couple things. I just flushed the radiator (wasn't too bad) added new coolant, but the temp gage is still hovering around the M. Is there something else I need to check? Oh by the way I am from Yuma, Arizona (110 degrees and sometimes more). I know to some that might make a difference, but I just did my Ford Ranger and it dropped the temperature (with 180 Thermostat) down below the N. Quite a difference. However, the Contour still wants to ride hot even with a new 180 degree thermostat. I noticed that the Catalytic converter is right on the front of the motor. Is this a good thing and has anyone ever relocated one and how hard is it or would it be?
Also I purchased a code reader to day and I plugged it in and got P1380 VCT Solenoid Valve circuit Short or Open. Is this the Solenoid sticking up thought the Valve Cover? If so then it was one of those air head things I forgot to plug it back in when I was finished changing the plugs! Anyway just want to confirm that that is what I am thinking it is?
