Well took a 30 minute road trip to a local show. I was driving just fine when I came to a stop sign. The car was idling fine and then it like sputtered a little, then it idled fine again and then it would sputter again. The rpm's were fine no drop in them ever.. What could it be.. I did have a small mishap when painting the upper intake I broke a vacuum line. The one that sits on top of the plenum.. I think it belonged to the brakes because when it comes loose the brakes become very hard to push... I did fix it with some plastic epoxy.. I am thinking some might have fallen in the vacuum line and is sticking somewhere.. If not let me know what you guys think.. I want to fix it before I go to the National Meet... Please Help frown confused

Are you sure that you fixed the vacuum line? I would try and properly fix the line first before looking anywhere else. A broken vacuum line can lead to all sorts of driveability issues.

For a short term fix, you can try buying a short length (3-4") of copper tubing that will fit the inside diameter of the vacuum tubing. Then use the copper tubing to "join" the two pieces of vacuum tube. Tighten the vacuum tubes on top of the copper tubing with hose clamps.

I broke the same hose and used the same fix. It held for quite a while but while idling one day the hose let go and exhibited the same symptoms you are describing. Just replace the hose, it only cost me ~$15 CDN for it and took about 10 mins to replace (had to invent an easy-out to remove the broken piece, hence the time).

I'd say replace the broken line and see iff the problem persists.

FYI: The part number for the brake booster vacuum line (to UIM) is: F5RZ-2420-AE. Price was $15.99 CDN.
