when i try to shift into 1st at a normal rate of force and the car is moving or it just stopped i get major grinding. if it is stopped and i shift, slowly, i usally get no grinding. no grinding in other gears. what is wrong??? syncros or cluth? do i just need an adjustment? i have synthetic and friction modifier.

same thing happens to me when shifting from 2nd to 3rd or from 4th down to 3rd. My mom supposedly asked a mechanic what was needed (who knows what she actually said) but according to him I needed an axle. I just think its the syncros going out.

probably nothing wrong. most manual transmissions don't have a synchro for first gear.

No, the MTX-75 does have a first gear synchro and a reverse gear synchro.

Sounds to me like you are also in need of bleeding your hydraulic clutch. See the post in the forum called "Testing the Clutch" or something like that. There is a good write-up in there on it.
Chances are you clutch isn't fully disengaging right now.
