both of my transmitters for my car are pretty weak or have bad batteries. I have to be within 20-30 ft. to get my doors to unlock or lock, same with the rest of the functions. Can i change the battery in the transmitter my self or do i have to get it done? last year i could do it from a pretty decent distance, now, it's no point of even using them, how can i make them good as new again and lock my doors from far away (not like a mile away but, the distance that it should be)? the car is a 98 E0 SVT.

Your batteries are prolly dead...$2-3 at Radio Shaft or Wal-Mart. Sometimes the contacts get dirty...use an eraser on the end of a pencil to clean the contacts(gently). Open the transmitter with a dime.
