i have a 99 svt, which i believe the passenger seat plastic recliner thingy on the side of the seat, you know the thing that makes the front seat go back, well it came off the seat and i'm having a hell of a time getting it back on, there's two little plastic things that connect to the seat frame, then there's the thing coming off the back of the handle mechanism that pops in the rail but i can't get them all in, it's either one or the other. sorry about sounding funny but i've never had to talk specific about seats. i checked the searh but nothing...

The following, from service cd, may help you solve or more clearly describe your problem.


Seat Front Backrest (Manual)Assembly -


Removal

1. Remove the front seat. Refer to the procedure in this section.

2. Remove the backrest adjust lever.

- Pull the spring clip up to release the handle.

- Remove the handle.

3. Remove the seat base outer trim panel.

- Remove the retaining screw.

- Pull the panel to release the two retaining dowels.

4. Remove the seat base inner trim panel.

- Remove the retaining screws.

5. Detach the inner backrest release cable.

6. Detach the outer backrest release cable.

7. CAUTION: Make sure the seat back is fully upright before proceeding to the next step.

Detach the inner seat backrest spring assister.

8. Remove the seat backrest.

- Remove the two backrest spring assister retaining screws.

- Remove the two Torx retaining screws.


Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
