Alright, I go to mount the BAT Fogs and find that there's absolutely no way that they are correct for a 'Tour.

I've done some searches, and found a couple other complaints about this, but no posted solution or resolution with BAT about it.

Here's pictures to compare:

This is what the bottom bracket for the fogs is supposed to look like:

And this is what BATs fog bracket looks like:

Obviously they're not even close. BATs sticks out about an inch past the mounting location and the screw holes are both about 1-inch too far in. I'm sure I could make it work if I had the ability to cut some steel, but I don't.

Anyone install these can tell me how to make them work?

yeah, I remember those being a biatch when I installed mine. I think I just screwed in the top screw, and the bottom fit in snugly (i guess...). I'm sure others will chime in here...

I have a 99, the Bat fogs look exactly right for mine. Ford must of changed things later years.

Can you reuse your brackets with the new fogs?

No, because I didn't have fogs at all before. That picture I found of what the fog should look like I found in another thread.

If I could do any sort of metal work it wouldn't be difficult at all to extend the mounting location on the bumper to where it needs to be.

dont even worry about the bottom part. the top slides in pretty securely if you screw it in well.

I did that on one side. Tight as it would go. There's an awful lot of play side to side though. It won't stay straight for very long.

On the other side (passenger) there's no way to get that top screw out let alone back in again. Maybe it's just my car, but the metal bumper frame (I think that's what it is) is in front of the screw and there's literally no way possible to remove it. I just forcibly removed that plastic insert piece, but there's no way the fog is going on on the passenger side without bottom screws.

Please dont do thing half azz , if you want them to work nice and stay on the car then just think of a idea, make your own bracket or something ...dont sit there and wait for it to fall off

weird...mine stay on great. i angled my screwdriver a little in order to get in there on the drivers side- i remember the passenger side being incredibly hard...maybe if you found a smaller screwdriver, it would fit in there better?

BAT has some problems with their products. For instance my intake pipe had the wrong inlet for the IAT. And of course they don't sell the adaptors any more, but they still sell the pipe itself. "So how in the hell do you suggest I install this?" "Well it fits the stock IAT." Oh really! Well then my problem is fixed isn't it! Yeah um they weren't very helpful to put it nicely. Turns out I got a lemon intake pipe, which they didn't care to try and fix. The number to BAT is 941-355-0005. Ask for Eric, even though he wasn't overly anxious to care about my problem with his product. But see what they have to say about it. Make sure to have your part # ready or they will play dumb. Good luck.

Just installed the Bat foggies in my 99 SE that never had foggies before and they fit perfectly. The passangers side was kind of a PITA for the top screw, but I managed to get it in.

It was another PITA to wire the foggies to look stock. But everythings in and working now. I'm so happy.
