Ok so my batt light came on saturday, had the alternator replaced and now the batt light is off until I hit 6000 RPMS then it comes on.

And also since the batt light and alt went out my car WILL NOT idle. The moment I push in the clutch or let it idle in neutral the rpms fall sometimes surging up a few times then the car stalls. No CEL, all fuses ok, checked my connections. ONe thing I did notice is that if I start the car with the MAF unplugged it idles fine but if i hit the gas rpms go up and then fall all the way to 0

Frankly, it would be easier to help out if you had continued your prior topic and responded to the assistance being offered there. Additionally it would help others that might assist in getting the full background to this story.

Take it back to shop that "fixed it" is my only advice.

Well, I read both the current topic, and the prior thread nicely provided by horseydug. I would have to agree that since you took it to a shop for repairs, they should have fixed what was wrong. Also, reading both threads, it seems you might have done something to your wiring when you undertook the initial parts removal/cleaning. I don't know if you did or not, but you should always disconnect the negative battery terminal when working on your car, for safety reasons.

Incidentally, I have changed the alternator on my v6, and I agree that it is a MAJOR PIA, and something best left to a professional, or someone knowlegable who doesn't get frustrated easily.
