My 95 Contour SE has warped rear rotors. I can tell it's the rears because when I lightly engage the e-brake on the highway I feel a vibration in the rear. The rotors are original (55k) and were cut last year when I replaced the pads. From what I understand, they will warp if you cut them.
I have Raybestos pads and rotors on the front (only a few months old). I went to Autozone today and got some pricing on Aimco rotors and Albany pads for the rear. Rotors are $26.99 each and pads are 19.99 with a lifetime warranty on the pads and 3 month warranty on the rotors against defects. Those prices are about 1/2 the price of Raybestos from Pepboys. Has anyone here ever used Aimco or Albany brands? If so, how are they?

Thanks
Tom in NJ

I'm sure a lot of these guys on here know better than I do about Contour brake parts, but my experience with my Mustang and my families cars:

I have learned over the years to use ONLY Napa United brake shoes/pads and drums/rotors.

If you're willing to take a chance with the inferiors (all autozone stuff) then you may get lucky and not have the warping issues.

I've used Albany shoes on my Mustang for years. They would glaze up immediately after I put them on. When I finally converted to front discs, I went Napa United and couldn't be happier.

They are such a high quality rotor that they don't even need to be turned out of the box. I'm pretty sure all the others do.

If you don't go with these, I would at least make sure they are made in USA. The offshore brands are a risk.
