For 3k you can put a very good down payment on an SVT. That would be a performance boost.
not to mention...a turboed Zetec with a few suspension mods, would out perform a SVT wouldn't it?!?!?
...or so i've heard

My Zetec out handles a SVT now. Just need more power....BUT on the road track my powerband is much on par with the SVT. That was before header, TB, UDP....

Even if you don't have the answer, you certainly have to admire the problem.

My problem with the headers is that I don't have specs to work from, and I don't have the know how to build em. I'm not the experienced welder, but my buddy is! As far as udp, it really doesn't give you that much extra hp too much money for too little results. Tweak with timing and injectors. I've been going back and fourth with some professors trying to make this my senior project and get some advice--HA HA HA! I love this forum! I would love any more advice, or references.
I think, I tinker, I play around, I build.

UDP=2hp and 8ft lbs of torque at the wheels for less than $100 for pulley and belt. yeah that's WAY TOO much for such a SMALL gain.

96 ATX Zetec (i brake to watch you swerve)

I would still question the 8tq, but even at 2hp and 2 ft/lb, it is still a worthwhile mod. You don't have to make any sacrifices along the powerband, it is cheap, and it is easy to install. What more can you want?
