Ok, so my uncle calls me up this evening and says, "hey Dan I have a car that I brought home from work that you might find intresting. Do you want to come over and check it out?" I promptly respond, what ya got. His resopnce is a stage 3 str-4 neon. No sooner did I hang up the phone was I out the door and halling ass over to his place (roughly 25 minutes from my house).
Just a side note, I hate dodge and neons inparticular. I have always been a ford fan and have had a long passion with the mustang, though friends can atest that I have had just about every car built under 35K. I get tired of car quickly and that is why I change up so often.
Anyway back to the story, I pull up and there it is a mopar test stage 3 neon str-4. I was suprised at how the sutttle differences made the car look so much better than a normal neon. I ask "hey can we take if for a spin?" Sure he replies and gives me the keys . We hop in and "test her out". I only have one thing to say that damn thing, FAST AS HELL! No ands ifs ors about it, that thing is crazy fast. But really what do you expect from a sport compact, front drive, with 300+ hp? I kid you not, that damn things would burn the tires off through gears 1+2 and leave a 15 foot patch in third.
Suddenly I am having second thoughts about my whole "anti-neon thing

yeah my aunt called me the other night and said come over. she had a 2003 enzo ferrari. it was really fast and looks better than some other ferraris that cost less.

I thought about it too, I can actually lower my monthly car payment if I traded in my SVT for one.....

stage 3 is really 300 hp and 300 tq at the wheels, however. Mopar stage 1 just started shipping yesterday. Stages 2 and 3 aren't even released yet. But! It has been rumored that a few dealers are going to be selling Stage 3 SRT-4's brand new. So the question is, does this guy have the super duper special hookup or not?

I took off from work just to go see the SRT-4. The dealer I went to had 2 (yellow and a black one) The salesman told me the dealership won't even let them drive it until the customer gets approved for the loan. Needless to say I was about to trade the tour in until I saw a 3,000 dealermark up. I don't know about the mainland but all dealers out here markup the price of the car above MSRP by at least 3,000. They wouldn't even come down on the price. After an hour at the dealer and me telling them I wouldn't buy it unless it was 20,000 out the door, I ended up leaving. When I tried to haggle with them they told me they could work on lowering the price of an R/T neon if I wanted that. I just left. What a bunch of a-holes.

so, base SRT4's are ~$20k, how much for the Stage3 mods? i mean... how much do you REALLY want to pay for a NEON!!?!?!?
