I'm trying to get them to redesign the fuel pumps and have a recall on them. or even if you haven't will you help us out that do have the problem.

I just had mine replaced to the tune of a fifty dollar deductible and the embarassment of a car getting towed (super shiny 99, with 45,000 miles). The part number that they used "XS2Z9H307AG".

What does the "XS" stand for in the parts list decoding? If wasn't listed anywhere.

Mine started with a rough idle when coming to a stop. When I put it in neutral, the idle was fine. Then at some point the car stalled while I was accellerating to get on the expressway and wouldn't start.

the signs i have are when i'm on it hard at about 4000rpms it falls on it's face and stops going any faster. and when i'm going up hills i start to lose speed then i down shift and it bucks and stops going any faster. i have to baby it home. this is a big topic on the cougar enth. website. they have a lot of trouble with them since they are all returnless fuel pumps.

Mine just simply died at 49K. I put the car in the garage, went on a 2 week vacation and when I returned, it would not start.

Fixed to the tune of $608 tow included.

No signs before failure
