Loved going to work, parking, and finding the sunroof refusing to close as it started raining. Nothing like it. Found the top console 'center light pod' could be pried out, exposing mounting screws, etc. FFWD I have the power ass'ly in front of me...real cruddy design. Removed problem (positional sensor/motor cutoff cam) and got the darn thing working. If anyone has a gear housing in decent shape(w/wo motor), mail me. Junkyard shopping starts tomorrow. Anyone w/a sunroof, I suggest keeping a 4-way driver and a channel lock in the trunk! Good times, lucky to have the tools and a 10min break.

98 CSVT, basic mod's, my slowest car yet but still faster than the wife's Talon Tsi AWD. Not by much, though. Now if I could get the back wheels to do something....

I was thinking a plastic sheet and masking tape should be included in jack pouch on sunroof optioned cars

p.s. By 4-way I presume you mean for phillips head screws.

Most of the people with this problem have bad gear, but good motor. Try a place called Saved Auto Parts don't have a url, but they are in Green Bay, Wis. Phone is 1-888-371-3050. I ordered the wole motor/gearbox assy from them about two years ago. Was only $60 delivered to Tulsa. It's still working (he said while crossing fingers). They may still have some units left. The one I got looked brand new, like it had never been installed.
