A very special THANK YOU to all who replied to my previous post about taking off my side skirts. I was not aware of the holes that are underneath them. I verified this info with a dealer. So the existing skirts are bending away from the car due to the heat in Southern Calfornia. What are my options? The repair breaks down like this:

New side skirts $150.00 (price from dealer)
Paint to match $100.00 (my guesstimate)
Labor to install$100.00 (my guesstimate)
FOR A TOTAL OF $350.00

THIS IS A LITTLE "STEEP". Maybe it would be cheaper to remove the bent skirts and fill the holes and repaint?

ANY THOUGHTS??
THANKS,
Chuck
So. Cal

You should be able to get them for a cheaper price. Check the classifides on this site. Also check the local salvage yard. The skirts should be cheaper than 150 each.

If your dealer quoted you $150 for a set of SE skirts, that's pretty good. Dealers charge arms and legs for those.

You might want to consider SVT skirts. They're cheaper (oddly enough) -- about $100 a set, but they do look a little out of place without the matching front and sides since they hang a little bit lower than the SEs.

Don't be surprised if it costs more to paint the skirts than that, unless you're having them painted at Maaco.

Never had to have it done myself, and I've never seen a quote on skirt painting, but the price to paint a front bumper is in the neighborhood of $300-$500 at a good shop.

Installation should be really easy since the holes are already there. I wouldn't be surprised if it's less than $100.
