You might want to consider changing the struts/mounts while you are in there, especially if yours is a higher mileage car. Maybe check the classifieds or ebay for some used ones?

Corey can get springs, you can find a thread on these, here .

Jontour in Minnesota has the exact same problem on his 95. I'm replacing them with SVT struts and springs this weekend.

yes but it will ride higher - SVT is heavier 300lbs than other models, and so the springs are beefier. afaik anyway, i just read this a little while ago in the suspension forum, i think.

Well beefier springs?!It may be harder to break on non SVT? anyway I've several questions for those have changed your springs or struts youself, how did you break the strut bolt loose?I'm using 1/2 inch wrench with no success, may be heat it up? and what size of socket I should use on the front lower arm(rear)?
Ford has recall for the front springs (from what I read on Alldata.com)but why not the rear?
BTW if anyone has spings for sale email me at Bulebird123@aol.com

As I recall the spring recall was to install a shield to prevent a broken spring from contacting and possibly cutting the tire. It was not to replace springs.

p.s. You'll need Metric size tools.

Same thing happened on my 95, it's not all that uncommon, they corrode way too easily. I expect my fronts to need replaced in the next 10k miles.
