Anyone think about making some kind of cover to go over the ugly yellowish-clear plastic coolant reservoir like the SVT Focus has? Their on Ebay all the time. Just a thought, as I found nothing in the archives and my reservoir is so faded to the point it looks down right awful. Just a thought for sprucing up the engine bay area a bit more.

Man, don't get me started on this. GRRRRR.... I would love to get some chrome reservoirs, but unfortunately, we, 'tours owners, have to suck hairy moose *^@% ' cause even Burton has them for all the Fords but Mondeo (actually he got header and power steering tanks only, but I will take those too). At least, I would like to have some caps.

Some English dudes got 'em,
but I don't like the quality, they say it's for Duratec, and, besides, I don't dig how they work - some of the reservoir caps have the sensors connected to them, don't they?

Ford Billet Engine Cap covers, these are available for all V6 Duratec engined Fords and simply fit over your existing OEM cap and secured with a small grub screw. Available for Brake Fluid, Coolant and Power Steering, highly polished and engraved with your choice of word/s or logo. Still more to come, keep a look out!

I guess that's the easy way out...well, sort of...kind of a P.I.T.A. to take it out, drain it and then put a few coats of paint on it. Something that will last (through underhood engine heat) and won't harm the plastic. That would be my only concern. I would imagine you'd have to keep the section where it reads min and max unpainted unless you mark it with something permanent. A chrome billet cover would be sweet, though.

I Thought you only wanted the cap painted. Painting the whole thing would look cool too. Yeah the min and max would be a good thing to leave unpainted, but then it might look tacky. But hey if you want to paint the whole thing might as well. Change the coolant while your in there too. Just changed mine, Nice to see green instead of brown.

No, at least a cover for the top. SVT Focus's have a black cover over the top of their's. I found a place in the U.K. that sells the billet caps, but their expensive IMO. Oil, washer, brake fluid and power steering caps are around $40 each. They have strut tower caps also for $81.50/set. Battery tie downs for $55. All are pricey in my opinion. Your looking at almost $300 if not a bit over that w/ shipping and their vat tax. Not worth it for a few billet caps.
