Either you are very courageous or you don't love your SVT!

The hitch I actually had installed at a UHaul dealer (I supplied the hitch). They were actually really good, and didn't even drop the exhaust! The chassis/frame has 2 holes available already, they just drilled another 2 and up it bolted.
They thought I was a bit crazy to be wanting a hitch on a sports sedan, but I can't afford a Lightning, so why not?
The great thing was - the installer guy had previously installed a hitch on an older Porsche, so mine was a piece of cake.

I saw one in autotrader before. It was avertised as "1998 Contour SVT, Tow package, nice, never driven hard"
Wow, I was going to call him up and call him an idiot. First of all, if your going to sell any car, take the hitch off, people will think the trans is bad or something. Second of all, don't put that on a CSVT!

Rob, you would autox with a hitch? It's about 40 lbs I think directly on the back of the car. Perhaps better for weight distribution, but extra weight...
One good thing is that in a rear collison there's an extra bar to meet the other guy's bumper, sort of like the anti-submarining hitch on the Expedition so little cars don't wedge under. In my case I'm protecting the lil slammed Civics.

dude its in your owners manual how much you can tow...its like 2000 lbs or some crap...and my car being an SVT its 5 speed makes towing much easier than on an auto car.....the car is perfect...its towed from Michigan to Va...and back....then to the race track....then to the painter...and its been used to tow other bikes that I have worked on so I could deliver them to my customers......the car tows beautifully.....
People suck.
