hahaha.. before your head explodes.. this isn't why the neighbor complained..
I didn't see that they mentioned what neighbor complained and why.. I assume it was due to people stopping their cars and parking on the street.
The reason she is no longer going to charge is because the city was kind enough to provide them with a free permit.. so in honor of that, they are going to provide free lemonade to the city's patrons and tourists. I think it's very polite gesture from one person to another.

if i were the cops, i'd tell the family which neighbor complained so they could harrass them for the rest of the summer. or sell them a cup of piss instead of lemonade.
good for the city to respond the way they did.
i wonder, with a temporarary permit, if the kid could register her name with the state as a non-profit and apply for grant money. at age 6, she could have a "business training seminar" for other children so they all learn how to make change and sell lemonade.

You know the sad part is, did the neighbor who had a problem actually go talk to the parents of the child and share his/her concerns?
Too many people just call the police instead of taking 10 minutes to talk to their neighbors.
What's up with that??

The irony is, if thats the reason the neighbor complained, you're going to see DOUBLE the traffic because of this publicity and there isn't SH*T the neighbor can do about it now.

Some people really have nothing better to do then to [censored] about stuff like that...those people REALLY need to learn what's important in this life... As for the city, good job. It's nice to see the police and the city handling the situation in a way that is appropriate and understanding.

Agreed!! An ex-neighbor of mine (pretty nice guy, actually) would always just call the cops or some other authority when something happened with his kid. I always asked why he didn't just deal with it himself and stop hiding behind the cops or whomever.
Hell, a kid my son knows took off on his bike one day while at the park. He didn't come back. I didn't call the cops until after going to speak w/ the parents! Funny part is, the kid's mom told me to call the cops because she was afraid it was the only real way to make the point to her son. I did so, but felt really strange calling the cops on a 12 y/o kid.

I think it's awesome the town gave them a summer long free permit.. I hope they give them one every year.

I was a show the other night called Wildest Police Chases or something like that where one of them was about 2 PROFESSIONAL 12 y/o car theives. When they finally stopped the kids after the chase they found every single tool a professional car thief would use. What is our world comming too?

This is a good point I think, they said they have made $30 bucks in one day before, that's 60 people ya know. So if you have 30-60 people stopping by every day during the summer that gets to be a bit annoying. What kind of cheap-a$$ parents make their kid slave all day for 20 bucks anyways. Sounds like child labor to me. Is this Martha Stewarts neighberhood or something?
