I've had no prob with my Ford Scanner software. You're more than welcome to come over and try it out. I dunno how far you are from Laurel, MD though.

That would be awesome, but I don't think it will work with my year. I keep mine in the glove box just in case. I work at Ft. Meade so Laurel is close by. Let me know when your available

Eric

Your car is OBD-I, Bobby's is OBD-II. Not sure if the scanners are compatable.

They're not, as far as I know. An OBD-1 scanner, at least all I've seen and the one I have, is basically a flashing light and a beep. What kind of problem are you having with reading the code?

I can scan it for you but you'll have to wait for the next shop meet!

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Dang ODB 1 is easy. Do you have a haynes manual? You jumper 2 pins together under the hood and you use the check engine lite to figure out what codes you have. I did that all the time on my old 1995 SE. It's easy and I'd still be willing to help. Email me at rknauber@yahoo.com. I check my email more than I do the forum.

Yeah I did it that way. It's really easy, quick and cheap. There is an FAQ on this site http://dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html and it tells you exactly how to do it. I used this one. The codes are also listed there in case you dont have them.

I dont believe that the repair shops check the codes, so this is a good thing to have on hand.
