Yeah, and that's why we have to take down our radar detectors when going through Virginia. I laugh just thinking about that statement. What is she smoking???

Just because something is legal doesn't make it safe. This lady is wacko. And should go to jail in Ohio to prove a point.

I hope it doesn't turn in to some messy interstate commerce b.s. though, that's a disaster waiting to happen for anyone who believes in states rights. Though it did open the door to desegregation so it ain't all bad...

If what she says is true, I should be legally allowed to drive 75 mph in any state I want to. Apparently this woman has no concept of state lines.

My youngest son just had his 4th birthday a few months ago because my wife DID fasten him in a car seat. She died instantly when the van flipped over. No other cars involved. She just lost control for unknown reasons and overcorrected. Just goes to show you don't always have to worry what the other drivers are doing you also have to watch what YOU are doing.

Thank you Ray. It was two years ago. I just wanted people like the lady in the article to know that while you may be on an empty road cruising at a steady and SAFE speed anything can happen. And when it does the safest place for that child is in a child seat that is properly secured. My wifes mini-van was totaled beyond reconigtion and my son had to be cut out of the van but there wasn't so much as one scratch or bruise on him. It was like a bumpy roller coaster for him. Seat belts and car seats work for children. I know for a fact.

WOW CL!

I'm so sorry to hear that! I can't imagine! I wish you the best of luck! Take care of that son of yours!

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
