Finally I found a tranny and have had my car back on the road for two days now. I have missed my tour.

Now the check engine light come on it is the EGR valve. The guy at Auto Zone told me to take it off and clean it with carb cleaner to see if that takes care of it before I replace it.

Is it ok to do that or should I just replace it and if it is ok to clean how hard is the EGR Valve to get off.

two bolts to the engine and one for the tube that goes to the manifold.... comes right off.. you can then test it with a vacuum pump to see if opens and closes when it is suppose to....
if its not the EGR it could be the vacuum modulator or the carbon deposits behind the throttle plate valve.... do a search on this web site and it will give you the whole plan for cleaning the manifold behind the throttle plate/gasket area if you are getting the trouble code P0401.............
