I have a 96 Contour V6 with an ATX (CD4E?). Under light load I am hearing a Growling, Rumbling noise from the transaxle. "dips" in the road cause the rumbling to increase, presumably due to the g-force of the bounce. The noise has been getting consistently worse over the past 1.5 years, The dealership can find nothing wrong. The car has 4 months left on the extended warranty so I am desparately looking for a good dealership tranny technician. I found out that a couple of the local, experienced transmission guys have been awarded cruises by Ford. My question is: Does anybody know the criteria Ford uses to award these perks? Quality of repair? Income generated by shovin em thru? Hopefully these awards are for excellent work and I can use this info to request the most competent. Thanks
