ok,
Well I already did a seach and came up with alot of stuff, some crap others pretty helpful. My question is I have the stock 2" exhaust on my 97 V6 tour and I want to cut out my Res. and put in a straight flow muffler. I bought a thrush, with 25" from tip to tip and 2" ends. I brought it to the guy that is doing the job for me (my friend who has a body shop) and he said it wouldn't work because I need a muffler that has offsets to replace it I couldn't use a straight one like a thrush.
When I did my seach on here the replacement resonators that I saw were all straight mufflers with no off sets. What I want to know is which Res. would be a perfect replacement and would fit in fine with out alot of extra work or how to adapt a straight muffler without offsets if its needed.
Thanks,
Jerry

PS: I am partial to magnaflow.

I just had magnaflow res and mufflers installed on my svt today. I;m not positive on this but i believe you can use the same res I bought just get it in a 2" inlets for a non svt v6. I'm sure someone will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong here. Link below to a bigexhaust I think you would need the middle one part# 10424. Like I said I'm not positive if that's the one for a '97 sport but I'm fairly sure it is.

BTW The sound on the magnaflows is great I love it.

My muffler dood welded my magnaflow in my SVT exhaust...and its not offset. He might have been concerned about your tip looking right, thinking that if he didn't offset the pipe..your tip would point funny. I'd just go to another place...

An Edelbrock 5500, Dynomax Bullet, and Magnaflow will all fit in there...

Your friend is wrong. Centered resonators will work perfectly. The one you have (25" total length) is almost identical to the Magnaflow #10425 (24" total length, 18" body length) I have on my car. I can snap a quick pic of it if you want, and if someone can host it for me.

Sent. Not the best conditions for a picture (one side jacked up/night shot), but hopefully it should help.
