Im planning my new system for my truck and I want a single 12" sub and a good amp without breaking the bank. I want around 7-800w peak power out of this thing. I dont know whether to buy a mono amp or a 2-channel amp (bridged). Any ideas?

Also, since I listen to alot of rock I was told that a sealed box (crisp) would be better for me than a ported box(boom), is this true?

Thanks in advance

I like your amp choice, but I would run a higher end sub, like something from JL...how much you lookin to spend?

Shop around, you can find some awesome deals these days.

Any of these amps would be a good value for higher end quality and solid performance: AudioBahn Specials

For a sub, I honestly believe you can find plenty of good sounding 12 inchers for under $150. I had one of the new HiFonics HZ series for a while, very solid sub and highly recommend it: HiFonics HZ series subs

But if you are looking to push some serious power to a single 12" sub, Orion HCCA or H2 and MA Audio XL or Hard Kore series top my list. I've currently got a single 10" XL with a HiFonics XI-Zues bridged mono to it and it's way more than my little Contour needs. Depends on what you are looking to spend, but I would shop for quality rather than a specific rating. Meaning you'll be much much happier in the long run with a lower rated higher end amp and sub vs. a cheaper amp with higher specs.

Go to any of your favorite search engines, type in "Discount Car Audio" and boom! You'll find awesome stuff for awesome prices.

Get the Power Acoustik FUHBR SUB 12"!!!!!
that sub is amazing! and it only cost like 130-150 at best buy. And that amp is great, if you want cheap, get a profile amp, they are cheap but have huge power ratings.
